Our History

Anissa Arloro receiving her AMI diploma in 1993

Director of Melrose Montessori School, Anissa Arloro receiving her AMI diploma with Sandra Girlato and director of training Renilde Montessori, Maria Montessori's youngest grandchild - 1993

Melrose Montessori School was founded in 1974 by Beatrix Masszi following her training at the Washington Institute under the direction of Margaret Stephenson. Anissa Arloro was a student at the school and was later inspired to become a Montessori teacher.

Anissa received her AMI diploma at The Foundation for Montessori Education in Toronto in 1993 and today she leads Melrose Montessori School continuing the school's long time commitment to Montessori's vision of education as an aid to life.

Each summer we welcome teachers in training from The Montessori Training Center Northeast, continuing our strong connection and dedication to Montessori's vision and the training of future Montessori teachers.
